R-Patz and Kristen's 'cynical showmance'

After Kristen Stewart’s affair with a married director, it seemed Robert Pattinson would never be able to forgive her.
Until, it appears, their latest film was about to hit the cinemas.
With just days to go before the premiere of the final movie in the Twilight saga, the pair appear to have rekindled their romance.

They have been pictured together in bars and with friends, and today will make their first joint television appearance since their split.
But insiders have speculated about whether the reunion is genuine or just a ‘showmance’ designed to ensure Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is a box office hit.

 

The couple play lovers in the vampire films, and their high-profile relationship off-screen helped turn the series into a multi-million pound success story.
They went their separate ways in July after Miss Stewart, 22, confessed to cheating with 41-year-old married British film director Rupert Sanders. Afterwards, she received death threats from admirers of heartbroken Mr Pattinson, 26.

However, many believe industry bosses now want fans to focus on the film rather than the couple’s off-screen rift – and right on cue, they appear to have reconciled.
The pair will appear in a joint interview today that will be broadcast on music television channel MTV in the US and on the internet. It will include an exclusive clip from the latest film.
It is understood they will also appear together at the Los Angeles premiere of the film on November 12, before embarking on red carpet appearances around the world.
A television source in LA said: ‘This has come as a big surprise. New Line [the film studio behind Twilight] feel that a joint TV appearance will ease the impact on fans of their red carpet debut but not diminish the publicity.
‘In recent days Rob and Kristen have really shown their friendship is back on track. They are comfortable around one another and that inspired this brave move.
‘Where they go as a couple after this still has to be seen.’
