Queen of the ice! Marcia Cross treats her twin daughters to a lesson in speed-skating on fun day out

As Bree Van De Kamp on Desperate Housewives, Marcia Cross was a rather frosty character.
But it turns out she's pretty icy in real life, when it comes to the art of skating.
The actress treated her two daughters to a festive trip to an ice rink in Santa Monica on Thursday.

The model coach, Marcia took turns with helping her 5-year-old twin daughters -  Eden and Savannah - negotiate the ice.

 

Holding on to one of her girls hands, the actress kept her steady so she didn't fall.
But just how long that training session lasted for could be anyone's guess, as she was soon whizzing around like a pro on her own.

Wearing an all black outfit with a houndstooth baker boy hat, the 50-year-old glided across the ice in confident form.

She certainly could have given Olympic figure skating legend Michelle Kwan a run for her money.
However since giving birth to her kids through IVF treatment in 2007, being a mother is what she loves the most and getting to share her work with the kids: 'I like bringing the girls on set, but if I can’t do that then the next day I feel I have to be uber-mum to make up for it.'

Firmer ground: After a skating work out with the kids, Marcia swaps her blades for some comfy boots to complete her all black outfit

But she admitted that trying to be the perfect mother can be tiring work: 'Then I’m exhausted and I feel like I’m running on fumes.'
Clearly, she had a lot of energy at the ice rink as she played with her girls.
Fit and healthy, she set a good example to her kids to be active, so maybe the model mother attitude of her character Bree didn't stray too far from her own personal ethos.
